After-hours at The Owl
Parri, from Cole’s Bar here, letting you know of a must see show to be added into your weekend plans. As you probably saw in the January 25th edition of The Chicago Red Eye, Summer Girlfriends is a rad local band that’s worth a check out. Compiled of 5 Some-Blondes (Yea, yea it’s bad… don’t ruin this pun for me!), Caitlin, Nikita, Sara, Kristen, and Nicole provide you with fun and catchy tunes that sound like The Beach Boys’ rebellious teenage daughters with a sprinkle of Screaming Females piled on top. Their sound is magical for a summer day drink, or pick up their new and debut album due out sometime this year to help you forget about the bone chilling cold of this Chicago winter (which we all know is only going to get worse). Be sure to catch them at Cole’s February 3rd at 10:00pm….bring a beach ball. Oh, and did I mention that one of them plays the Kazoo?
